NTH TEA SPINNIN’ W/ DJ NEWCOMB

DJ NEWCOMB will be taking a residence at our sweet local the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of every month from 7pm-10pm. I have no idea how we get so lucky with our live music but we do! DJ NEWCOMB is well known in the world of spinnin’ tunes, and because he totally digs our vibe and what we are trying to do here, he has decided to blast the neighborhood of WESTWOOD VILLAGE into the 22nd century. PREPARE YOURSELVES!!!!!!!

JESSE CROSS, hired gun and swooner of hearts, souls, and spirits, has decided to grace our sweet local the 1st and 3rd Saturday of EVERY month! How did this happen? We don’t know! We can only assume that the ghosts of Jimi Hendrix, Duane Allman, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Albert King visited JESSE in the middle of the night and told him that he must melt the faces of Westwood or they would melt his brain, “Back to the Future” style. The TASTY TEA JAMS will be played on the 1st and 3rd SATURDAY from 8pm-9pm. ROCK ‘N’ ROLL IS ALIVE AND WELL!!!!!!!!!

KUDZU (Pueraria lobata, Ge Gen)
“Kudzu is a botanical used in Chinese medicine to treat alcoholism, menopausal symptoms, diabetes mellitus, fever, common cold, and neck or eye pain. There are several species of Kudzu and both the flowers and root extract are used for their medicinal properties. Isoflavones, the major components of kudzu, are thought responsible for the beneficial effects.

Kudzu demonstrated antiproliferative, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective properties. It also has antiapoptotic effects against ethanol-induced apoptosis and suppresses alcohol intake.

Small studies indicate benefits of kudzu in reducing alcohol intake in heavy drinkers. Data also indicate that it does not affect the sleep cycle in moderate drinkers. Kudzu may improve symptoms such as hot flushes and night sweats in perimenopausal women; and cognitive function in postmenopausal women. It may also be effective in preventing the development of gray hair.” – http://www.mskcc.org/cancer-care/herb/kudzu
